Abstract: |
|
| |
|
|
| |
Masculinity is
one of the most powerful contexts within which sexual assault
occurs. Very few men have a gender-aware perspective on
themselves, and traditional men actively avoid learning about
masculinity. As a result, they tend to see sexual assault
programming as
male-bashing
and/or as women’s issues that do not concern them if they are
not personally engaging in the problem behavior. This workshop
helps participants to talk to young men in a way that allows
them to understand themselves as gendered people, understand
women in similar context, and take an active role in preventing
sexual assault. |
