Abstract:
      
     This multi-medium, PowerPoint presentation will expose the attendee to the world of STALKING and CYBERSTALKING. These age-old patterns of behavior have been sensationalized by the media, but are real-life problems faced by victims and those in the criminal justice system that are called on to address the subject. . Learn who cyber stalkers are, the latest cyber stalking statistics, the basics of tracking down cyber stalkers, staying safe online and more.

With the use of case examples, photographs, audio and video clips, stalking AND cyber stalking will be discussed to include some history of stalking legislation, what stalking looks like and how to recognize cases. We will look into the mind of the stalker and discuss some established psychological typologies and motivations. Techniques in evaluating, investigating and managing stalking and threat cases will be examined, as well as a look at the formation of a multi-disciplinary group that can be utilized to address these problems
