Mobilizing Communities - Leadership Development

This will be a co-presentation by Assistant Chief John Welter and Assistant City Attorney Gael B. Strack. It will be an interactive multi-media presentation covering the "key ingredients to a successful organization"; "Knowing when to Hit the reset button" and "Using Strategic Planning to your Benefit" and, "What City Attorney Casey Gwinn didn't tell me about being President of the San Diego Domestic Violence Council".
 
Assistant Chief Welter led the effort to move SDPD to a problem oriented policing organization in the 1990s. He will discuss the challenges to any change process and some strategies to becoming an effective leader. Assistant City Attorney Strack will share her leadership challenges working on the San Diego Domestic Violence Council and the San Diego Family Justice Center and provide suggestions on developing community partnerships.
