Abstract:

The influence of societal attitude ranks high among the greatest challenges we face in non-stranger sexual assault cases.  This session will examine juror decision-making and public opinion polls in sexual assault cases in the United States, and will offer effective investigation and prosecution strategies to assist us in winning difficult cases.  A close look at how societal attitude drives the investigation, prosecution and trial of non-stranger sexual assault cases will be intertwined with a common sense approach that everyone can learn from and take back to their work.
