     I. Developing the program; Beyond charge driven case management

A. Locations of high risk cases
B. Identification High Risk Cases
C. There must be buy in from the top and from the Sergeants

II. Three possible outcomes

A. Current case pending
B. Charges available but not done
C. No charges possible

III. It is about partnerships and combining knowledge: Law enforcement and Mental Health
 
IV. The Community Response: Insisting on containment throughout the system
 
V. The Advocate as a threats management specialist

VI. It is a political process
 
Police departments and the prosecutor’s office are locations from which a collaborative approach to intervention with stalking cases can be launched. This presentation will focus on using information from law enforcement combined with mental health concepts to build a rapid response to stalking. It will go beyond domestic violence in that it will open a dialog about stalking by many different individuals and groups. within this model is the basic rule that violence is a preventable health problem and law enforcement can play a critical role.
