Ellen Hohenstein is a teacher with
San Diego City Schools. Prior to her current position at Hoover
High School, she worked for several years as a teacher on
special assignment coordinating STD/HIV prevention programs for
the district. She has had extensive training with the Centers
for Disease Control and Prevention in program design,
implementation and evaluation of research-based individual,
group and community level health-related interventions. In
addition to her work as a teacher, she serves on the board for
Planned Parenthood of San Diego and Riverside Counties and is a
member of the San Diego County Juvenile Justice Commission.
