San Diego County
SART’s mission is to promote social change that fosters a
society responsive to victims/survivors, their families and our
community that holds sex offenders accountable. The dinner will
serve as a fundraiser to improve services for sexual assault
victims. Items that may be purchased with raised funds include:
Digital cameras for law enforcement and forensic examiners, DVD/CD
player with speakers for music during the medical-legal
examination, rocker/recliner or sleep chair for the waiting area
for the survivor or family, cab and bus vouchers, funds for
emergency shelter and babysitters so that survivors can attend
court and law enforcement appointments without their children, new
quilts and sheets to send home when bedding is taken during the
evidence collection process, new computers for the SART hospitals
to improve data collection, web site development for sexual
assault service agencies, establishing a fund to pay honorariums
or for awards of appreciation for survivors who present at the
police academy and community events. |
