Gael Strack, Assistant City Attorney, San Diego

Gael B. Strack graduated from
Western State College of Law in December 1985. She currently is
the Assistant City Attorney for the San Diego City Attorney’s
Office responsible for overseeing the Family Justice Center, the
Domestic Violence Unit and Special Projects. Prior to this
appointment, Gael was the Head Deputy City Attorney for the
Child Abuse and Domestic Violence Unit. She joined the City
Attorney’s Office as a prosecutor in 1987. She has also worked
as a deputy public defender and a deputy county counsel for the
San Diego County Counsel’s office handling juvenile dependency
matters.
Gael currently sits on the American Bar Association’s Commission
on Domestic Violence and is an adjunct law professor for Cal
Western Law School. She is the Past President of the San Diego
Domestic Violence Council and has been honored with the National
College of District Attorney’s Lecturer of Merit Award, October
2000; the San Diego Domestic Violence Council’s Andrea O’Donnell
Award, October 2000; and, the Crime Victims Fund Distinguished
Service Award, April 2001. In October 2001, she co-authored a
series of strangulation articles in the Journal of Emergency
Medicine. She is married and has two children. |
