Sergeant (Ret.) Joanne Archambault, SDPD

Joanne Archambault has been with the San Diego Police Department for 21 years. She has been assigned to the Sex Crimes Unit for the last 9 years. The unit has 13 detectives and is responsible for investigating approximately 1,000 felony sexual assaults each year. Ms.Archambault co-authored the San Diego County Sexual Assault Response Team (SART) Resource Pamphlet and she produced a video on SART. Most recently, Sgt. Archambault worked closely with the National Center for Women and Policing to develop the first National Sexual Assault training manual and curriculum for law enforcement. She has lectured extensively throughout the United States on the role of law enforcement in the investigation of sex crimes.
