Steve Hogan, Assistant Counsel
for the New York State Division of State Police

Stephen P. Hogan currently serves as
an Assistant Counsel for the New York State, Division of State
Police, where he represents the Division in police disciplinary
hearings. He has worked in the field of domestic violence
intervention for several years, with particular emphasis on
responding to the difficult problem of police domestic violence.
Steve is a member of the faculty for the National College of
District Attorneys where he teaches a variety of courses on
topics such as civil liability in domestic violence cases. He
was an instructor and a participant in IACP project that
developed a national model policy for responding to police
domestic violence. In recent years, he has taught groups of
judges, prosecutors advocates about the application of federal
firearms laws to state domestic violence cases. In the 1990's,
Steve wrote the implementation plan for the New York State Order
of Protection Registry. He is a 1986 graduate of the University
of Notre Dame Law School.
