Wayne Maxey, Supervising Investigator

         
     Wayne Maxey is a Supervising Investigator currently assigned to the Special Operations Division of the San Diego District Attorney’s Office. He investigates and prepares for trial, cases involving stalking, threats and work place violence. He has evaluated, investigated and managed approximately 900 cases of threats or stalking. He is an 18-year law enforcement veteran who has served with the San Diego Police Department and the Chula Vista Police Department. While at Chula Vista PD he was assigned to the Child Abuse/Sex Crimes Unit. He was transferred to the Crimes of Violence Unit where he investigated homicide, robbery, felony assaults, domestic violence and stalking cases. He was then promoted to Sergeant and served as a patrol supervisor.
 
Mr. Maxey has lectured at the local police academy, and at training conferences in and outside the state of California, on the investigation, assessment and management of stalking cases. He has spoken to organizations and groups to raise public awareness on the subject of stalking. In March 2000, Mr. Maxey was invited to the United Kingdom where he made a presentation to law enforcement officers of England, Ireland, and Wales at a stalking seminar sponsored by Scotland Yard.
